Born May 26, 1926, in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde C. Banister and Nellie Dickerson Banister. Mrs. Guest was a graduate of Anderson Girl’s High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-six years, Leroy E. Guest; two sons: Charles L. Guest of Cashiers, NC, and Gary Guest and wife, Esther of Anderson, SC; daughter, Dolores I. ANDERSON, SC—Michael F. “Gopher” Arlfin, age 55, of 206 Wellington Court, was called home to be with his Savior on March 5, 2011.
Born to Inez Sutherland Arflin and the late George F. Arlfin, he attended Homeland Park Church of God and went to NHC Healthcare with some of his church family for Sunday School Service with the residents.
In addition to his beloved mother, he is survived by sisters: Brenda (Glenn) Deal, Patsy Getsinger, Pam (Mike) Capps, Cathey Arflin, and Georgia Shirley; brothers: Allen (Sandy) Arflin, Tony and Shon (Rhonda) Harper. Michael didn’t have any children of his own but was very close to his brothers and sisters children and their children. He was predeceased by his father, George Arlfin; and his brother, Larry “Joe” Arflin.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Vernon Soles and the Reverend Bobby Smith. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

ANDERSON, SC—Anthony Lee Davis, age 43, of 109 Wheaton Drive, passed away on March 3, 2011, in Dayton, OH.
Born February 21, 1968, in Anderson County, he was a graduate of Pendleton High School and served in the United States Army. Mr. Davis was of the Baptist faith and was employed by Schneider National Trucking Corp.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Hoy Davis of the home; mother, Marie McIntyre Davis of Pendleton; daughter, Marlana Brooke Davis of Starr; son, William Austin Lee Davis of Woodruff; stepdaughters: Laura Renee Gail Cramer of Woodruff, and Tracey Louann Bailey Cramer of Woodruff; brother, Keith Dewitt Davis of Pendleton; and nephews: Clinton Dewitt Davis of Pendleton, and Clayton Donald Davis of Piedmont. He was predeceased by his father, Clayton Dewitt Davis.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors provided by the US Army will be held at 3pm on Monday, March 7, 2011, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 2323 North Highway 81, Anderson, SC, conducted by the Reverend Marvin Lee.

ANDERSON, SC—Danny Joe Cone, age 78, of 203 Chestnut Boulevard passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011.
Born January 12, 1933, in Dothan, AL, he served in the United States Air Force and retired from the United States Government as a Federal Meat Inspector. Mr. Cone attended NewSpring Church.
Survivors include his son, Timothy S. Cone of Powdersville, SC; two sisters: Betty McKittrick (Charles) of Greenville, SC, and Doris Kinker of Houston, TX; one granddaughter and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his caregiver, Minnie Belle Duvall. He was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Dianne Cone.
The Funeral Service with Military Honors by the US Air Force will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 7, 2011, at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery conducted by the Reverend Mark Daniel.

ANDERSON, SC—Juanita Dean Hall, age 94, resident of The Garden House, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011.
Born May 28, 1916, at Dean’s Station in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late James Fred Dean and Leila Catherine Reid Dean. Mrs. Hall was a 1937 graduate of Anderson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at Anderson Memorial Hospital as well as a Private Duty Nurse for many years. Mrs. Hall was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson.
Survivors include her two sons: Herbert Dean Hall (Kathy) and Thomas Clinkscales Hall (Sherrill); and her sister, Anna Dean Shirley, all of Anderson, SC. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Herbert Clinkscales Hall; her sisters: Virginia Dean Sanders and Ethel Dean; and her brothers: James F. Dean and Thaddeus H. Dean.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3pm on Friday, March 4, 2011, at New Silver Brook Cemetery conducted by Dr. Dennis R. Tedder.

TOWNVILLE – Tommy Joe Goldsmith, 59, of 116 Oak Knoll Drive, died Saturday, February 26, 2011 at his residence.
Born February 13, 1952 in Anderson, he was the son of Roy Goldsmith and the late Hazel Lee Allen Goldsmith. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was a disabled Veteran and of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are his father, Roy Goldsmith of Townville; brother, Larry Goldsmith and his wife, Dianne of Anderson and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Gary Goldsmith.
Graveside service will be held at Monday at 11am at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Blizzard officiating and military honors by the Campbell Patriots. The family will receive friends following the service.
The family is at the home of his brother, Larry Goldsmith, 113 Fieldcrest Drive.

Born in Anderson, SC, on July 23, 1955, he was the son of Retha Phillips Aycock of Anderson and Melvin Horace Aycock and his wife Judy of Starr. He was a 1974 graduate of Westside High School and attended Anderson College and Tri-County Technical College. He attended Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church and formerly worked at True Temper and at Wal-Mart
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Misty Knox of Anderson and Dawn Hayden and her husband, Tim of Pendleton; one sister, Tonya Aycock of Anderson; three step-sisters, Fredda Jordan of Iva, and Tina Harbert and Sherrie Littlefield of Anderson; three grandchildren; Mackenzie Knox, Bailee Hayden and Tucker Hayden and a special friend, Kim Mason.
The Funeral Service will be Sunday, February 27, 2011, at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverends Brent Lollis, Ray Buchanan officiating and Reverend Mark Dickson officiating at the graveside. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.

Born in Anderson, SC, on August 28, 1944, he was the son of the late Allen Wilson and Ruth Wright Wilson. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife of forty six years, he is survived by his daughter Carla Powell and her husband, Jack of Anderson; two sisters, Frances Shirley and her husband, Nathan of Honea Path and Joanne Smith of Anderson; two grandchildren, Matthew and Ryan Powell.

Born in Hartwell, GA, on February 26, 1930, Mrs. Mattie Grace Seabolt was the daughter of the late Thomas B. Hicks and Viola Dodgens Hicks. She was a retired hostess of Comfort Inn of Greenville.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Carol Arflin, Shirley Ann Culbertson and Susan Diane Arflin all of Anderson; two nieces, two nephews and a special friend and caregiver, Susan Rebecca Strickland. She also has eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the late Joel E. Seabolt and Lewis G. Arflin; two sons, Lewis G. Arflin, Jr. and Michael R. Seabolt; one daughter, Frances J. Garrett; one brother, Thomas Hicks; one sister, Audrey Martin and one great-grandchild, Corey P. James.

ANDERSON, SC—Jacob Allen Jameson, age 23, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 23, 2011.
Born February 8, 1988, in Anderson, SC, he was the loving son of Don & Deborah Payne Jameson. Jacob attended T.L. Hanna High School and was currently employed in the cleaning service industry. Among his many passions, he enjoyed music and his ability to compete in automobile audio system competitions. From his childhood days as a Boy Scout with Anderson Troop 84, he developed a fondness of the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing. Jacob and his family are members of Concord Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Don & Deborah, of the home; his sisters: Buffy Lynn Jameson of Anderson, SC, and Ginny Leigh Jameson of Lynchburg, VA; his grandfather, Harold M. Jameson and his wife, Ruby of Carnesville, GA; his beloved girlfriend, Paige Cleveland of Belton, SC; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and wonderful friends.
Jacob was predeceased by grandparents: John & Eloise Smith Payne, and Helen Goolsby Jameson.

He was in the United States Naval Air Corps during World War II and a graduate of the University of Alabama. He was a retired sales manager with General Electric and a member of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church of Birmingham.
Surviving are his wife, Frances McAbee Summers; 2 sons, John Summers and his wife, Clare of Anderson and Jim Summers and his wife, Nancy of Mooresville, NC and 5 grandchildren, Marci Waldorf and her husband, Ben, Perrie Summers, Ryan Summers and his wife, Brittany, Rebecca Summers and Mark Summers. He was preceded in death by a sister, Cle McCullough.

Born July 2, 1935, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late William Lawrence Pelfrey and Mary Naomi Welborn Pelfrey. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Ruff Masonic Lodge No. 240 and was the Assistant Scout Master for Troop No. 141. Mr. Pelfrey retired from the textiles industry with forty-five years of service and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia “Pat” Allen Simpson Pelfrey, of the home; sons: Thomas L. Pelfrey, Jr., and wife, Michelle of Anderson, SC, and David Alan Pelfrey and wife, Lynn of Townville, SC; and four grandchildren: Crystal King and husband, Cliff, Ashley Pelfrey, Josh Pelfrey, and Jennifer Pelfrey.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Martin L. Pelfrey; and two sisters: Willie Mae Hunnicutt and Sara P. Schumacher.

Born June 28, 1924, in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Odus Stone & Gladys Roe Stone Harling. Mrs. Laughridge attended Winthrop College and was a homemaker. She was a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church. Mrs. Laughridge truly gave joy & love to her family and friends throughout her life.
Survivors include her five children: a son, Jack W. Laughridge, Jr. and his son, Kab; a daughter, Joy Ann Ford and husband, Ben and their children: Thomas, Mark, & Crystal; a daughter, Jana Rosenbrock and her children: Justin & Evan; a son, James O. Laughridge and wife, Cathi and their children: Jamie & Murphy; a son, Jeff S.
