AVIS B. POLLARD

August 7, 1917 – October 14, 2009
 
ANDERSON, SC - Avis Broome Pollard, age 92, wife of the late Jessie Luther Pollard, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Ellenburg Nursing Center. Born in Anderson, SC on August 7, 1917, Mrs. Pollard was a daughter of the late Flonnie Broome and Minnie Borders Broome.  She retired from Wellington Mill and was a member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church.
 
She is survived by her son, Larry Pollard of Anderson; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Jerry Pollard, daughter, Shelby Carroll; brother, Willie Broome; sisters, Louise Ely and Lucille Ruff.
 
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 1:00 pm at New Silver Brook Cemetery officiated by Reverend Early Tucker. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
