FRANCES W. BEASLEY
ANDERSON – Frances Whitfield Beasley, 86, formerly of Anderson, died Saturday, October 10, 2009 in Beatrice, Nebraska, where she had resided for the past three years.
Born February 12, 1923 in Townville, she was the daughter of the late W. Henry and Lois Gleason Whitfield. She was retired from Belk’s and was a lifetime member of Dickson Memorial United Methodist Church in Townville.
Survivors include two daughters, Betsy B. Williams and husband, Jim of Lincolnton, NC, and Cindy Karges and husband, Kelly of Beatrice, NE; five grandchildren, Todd Alan Williams of Arlington, VA, Kris Williams Holbrook and husband, Marty of Hickory, NC, Katlin Jessie Karges of Washington, DC, Zachary Beasley Karges of Raleigh, NC, and Emily Carolina Karges of Beatrice, NE; two great grandchildren, Maggie and Jake Holbrook; brother, W. Henry Whitfield and wife, Erline of Anderson; two sisters, Grace W. Murphy and Doris W. Spearman, both of Townville; and a cousin reared in the home, David Gleason of Anderson.
She was twice married, first to the late Robert Calhoun King and second to the late Max Calvin Beasley. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Lucas Jordan Karges and a sister, Alma W. Spearman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Downtown Chapel, conducted by Rev. Mike Vandiver. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary, 401 North Main Street, Anderson.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dickson Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O.
