MARION S. KNOBEL
OCTOBER 30, 1917 – OCTOBER 20, 2009
ANDERSON, SC – Marion S. Knobel, age 91, of 3501 North Highway 81, and wife of the late Robert Knobel died on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born on October 30, 1917, in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late David and Sarah Berman Segherman. Mrs. Knobel attended Brooklyn College. Upon the untimely death of her husband in 1969, she assumed his position as the Editor of the The National Stamp News for a period of time. She also retired from the business office at Anderson Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her children: Judith (Spencer) Shirley, Stuart (Amanda) Knobel, Sherrill (Thomas) Hall, and Barry (Catherine) Knobel, all of Anderson; and one brother, Elliott Segherman of Miami, FL. Additionally, six grandchildren: Richard Alan Shirley, Pamela Shirley Carron, David Brooks Knobel, Robert Carter Knobel, Lauren Blair Knobel, and Andrew Benson Knobel. Seven great-grandchildren also survive her.
A Private Family Committal Service was held on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
