J D JONES

TOWNVILLE – J D Jones, 90, of 330 Simmons Ford Road, died Friday, November 27, 2009 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born July 25, 1919 in Townville, he was the son of the late David Jackson and Bessie Wright Jones. He was a Farmer and a retired Supervisor with Clark Schwebel. Mr. Jones was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church and attended Dickson Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband and father.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Lou Royster Jones of the home; daughter, Janet Jones of the home; brother, Jack H. Jones of Anderson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Jones, and three sisters, Rosa Sullivan, Mallie Simpson, and Onie McMullan.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Dickson Memorial United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Paul Mitchell. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson.
