EFFIE G. “JODIE” SMITH

ANDERSON- Effie G. “Jodie” Smith, 83, of Smithmore St., died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born June 20, 1926 in Hart County, GA, she was the daughter of the late C.L. Risner and Annie Thrasher Risner. She was a homemaker and a member of Concord Baptist Church where she was a faithful nursery worker for over 50 years.
Surviving are her husband, Willie J. “Bill” Smith; daughter, Dianne Wise and husband, Phil of Milledgeville, GA; sons: Tommy R. Smith and wife, Linda and Randall L. Smith and wife, Tammy all of Anderson; five grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; sister, Jean “Boyd” White and brother, James Risner. She was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Ramey.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel with Revs. Bob Marcaurelle and Randy Blank officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 PM Thursday prior to the service. The family will be at the residence.
