JERRY T. VAUGHN

JUNE 7, 1949 – JULY 10, 2010

ANDERSON, SC – Jerry Thudas Vaughn, age 61, of 401 McFalls Circle, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at his home.

Born in Belton, SC, on June 7, 1949, he was a son of the late William A. Vaughn and Gladys Watt Vaughn.  He was a residential home builder for thirty-four years and was a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church, the former Triangle Baptist Church.  Mr. Vaughn was a very loving person who always made time to help others. He was a loving husband, father, papa, and a wonderful friend.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Debra M. Vaughn; son, Greg Vaughn of Hodges, SC; daughters, Merisa McElrath and husband, Jesse of Belton, SC, Amanda Snelgrove and husband, Aaron of Starr, SC, Christie Austin and husband, Keith of Belton, SC; brother, Charles A. Vaughn of Anderson, SC; sisters: Sybil V. Philyaw and husband, Leroy of Belton, SC, Margie V. Pritchett of Marietta, SC, Faye V. Wilkie of McCormick, SC; nine grandchildren: Kayla McCollum and husband, Mike, Dylan & Paige Vaughn, Kinsley & Maddison McElrath, Ashton & Landon Snelgrove, Austin Vaughn & Shanna Vaughn; three great grandchildren: Hayden, Landon, & Brayden McCollum.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Haynie R. Vaughn; and a sister, Ruby V. Mitchell.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 12, 2010, at the Garden of Memories, Belton, conducted by Dr. Mitch Brooks. 

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 11, 2010, at The McDougald Funeral Home.
