SHIRLEY HODGES

November 7, 1938 – June 14, 2013 

Shirley Rhae Skinner Hodges, age 74, of 308 Whitehall Road, passed away on June 14, 2013, at Rainey Hospice House.  Born in Lansing, MI, she was the daughter of the late William Edward Skinner and the late Hazel Kelley Skinner.  For over 51 years, Shirley was the loving and devoted wife of Hiram “Jack” Hodges of the residence. 

Mrs. Hodges was a graduate of Everette High School, Lansing, MI.  She was a homemaker and a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church.  Shirley was very active in Meals on Wheels as long as health permitted, and also a member of  Family and Community Leaders of the Clemson Cooperative Extension. 

In addition to her husband, Jack, Shirley is survived by a son, Leon C. Hodges of Anderson; 2 daughters, Anne F. Barnes and her husband, Christopher, of Anderson, and Jane Elizabeth Kuebler, also of Anderson;  a brother William Skinner and his wife, Cindy, of Garden, MI.  Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, LaVina Skinner.

At Shirley’s request no visitation or memorial service is scheduled.
