CAROLINE WATSON GREEN

August 8, 1947 – July 10, 2013

Caroline Watson Green, 65, of Greensboro, N.C., died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by the love of her family, she peacefully passed.

She was born August 8, 1947, in Anderson, S.C. to the parents of the late Wade Allen Watson, Jr. and Janet West Watson. Raised the only daughter among two brothers, Caroline was a true Southern belle. She graduated from Brenau Private School and attended Virginia Commonwealth University seeking a degree in art.

After college Caroline moved to North Carolina where she began a short career in the banking industry which was briefly halted after becoming a mother to two boys. Caroline poured her soul into her two boys’ lives never missing an opportunity to guide them and always making fond memories. Attending school field trips, serving as team mother, joining Scouting activities, engaging her children in community service activities and making sure everyone knew her name and smiling face  were some of the many contributions she made to her boys’ lives and the community. As her children reached their teens, Caroline rejoined the banking industry while seeking a bachelor of administrative science degree from Guilford College. She graduated in 1996 and later retired from BB&T after many years of dedicated service.

Caroline’s passion were her children, sharing her kindness and love for people, family, art and her love of nature. The latter is what led her to the man in which she shared her heart. Caroline married Steve Leonard Green on October 23, 1999 in Greensboro, N.C. and began a life in which their partnership was rich with back road mountain trips, leading a successful landscaping and nursery business and spending as much time with each others ‘ children and grandchildren.

Caroline never saw a challenge she couldn’t defeat, was never scared to try new things and never knew a stranger. Her battle with cancer was testament to strength and gusto in which she lived every day of her life.
