MRS. MAE COLEMAN

NOVEMBER 20, 1930 – NOVEMBER 24, 2009
 
TOWNVILLE, SC – Mrs. Mae Smith Coleman, age 79, of 2214 Hattons Ford Road, and wife of the late Robert Alston Coleman, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at her home.
 
Born in Anderson County on November 20, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Anderson Smith and Effie Rice Smith.  Mrs. Coleman retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas where she was now a member of the Retired Ladies Club.    She was also a member of the John Francis Gray Lodge No. 219 – Order of the Eastern Star.  Mrs. Coleman was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.
 
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Hughes and husband, Danny of Townville; grandsons: Daniel & Anthony Hughes; and sisters: Sandra Hanna of Townville, and Louise Looney and husband, John of Iva. In addition to her parents & husband, Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by her son, Stanley Jordan; one brother, Anderson Smith, Jr.; and one sister, Juanita Smith.
 
The Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Double Springs Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Kyle Caudell and the Reverend Daryle Hawthorne.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
 
The family is at the home and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6pm until 8pm on Friday, November 27, 2009.   Mrs. Coleman will be placed into the church one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday.
