MIKE GRAY

STARR, SC - James Michael Gray, age 62, husband of Vicki Thomas Gray of 537 Good Hope Church Road, died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County on February 14, 1947, Mr. Gray was a son of the late James Thomas Gray and Leila Harris Gray. He was a 1964 graduate of Crescent High School, attended Clemson University and a graduate of both Anderson Collage and Erskine College. He was the founder and owner of Hartwell Lake Properties. Mr. Gray served as chairman of Lake Hartwell Municipal Chamber Coalition and chairman of the Lake Hartwell 660 Coalition, Board of Directors of the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce and the Anderson Board of Education, the Anderson, SC Downtown Development and was a member of the Anderson Rotary Club. He was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church and attended the First Baptist Church of Iva.
Survivors include his wife of the home; daughters, Michelle Gray and Brooke Gray, both of Anderson; sons, James Gray and his wife, Missy of Pendleton and Billy Gray and his wife, Malinda of Starr; brother, Reverend Jerry Gray and his wife, Melba of Iva; six grandchildren, Quinton and Jamie Gray, Chase and Cory Gray and Evan and Hobie Miller.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Iva officiated by the Reverend Paul Pinson and the Reverend Jerry Gray. His grandsons and nephew will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Iva City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm. The family will be at the residence.
