Robert F. Mullikin, Sr.
PENDLETON- Robert F. Mullikin, Sr., of 7205 Liberty Hwy., died December 2, 2009.
On November 7th Mr. Mullikin celebrated his 90th birthday. He was the son of the late Frank and Clemmie Walker Mullikin. He was a graduate of Anderson College and attended Clemson College for one year prior to being called into the Army during World War II. After his discharge from the Army, he began his lifelong passion of farming. Early in his farming career, chickens were his primary focus, but the last fifty years, beef cattle have been his passion. Mr. Mullikin was a rural mail carrier for over 30 years. He was a school board trustee for Anderson School District Four and on the Board of Directors of Walker McElmoyle Fire Station for several years. He was member of Six and Twenty Baptist Church for over 70 years and served as a trustee, deacon, church secretary, treasurer and a member of the building committee.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Elise Cain Mullikin, and three children: Martha “Mopsy” Mullikin, Bobby (Sandi) Mullikin, and Dr. Jim (Betty) Mullikin all of Mullikin Farms; grandsons: Frankie (Diana) Mullikin of Mullikin Farms, Rev. Heath (Karen) Mullikin of Denton, NC, Seth Mullikin of Clemson, Trey Mullikin of Raleigh, NC and Graham Mullikin of Greenville; four great granddaughters; one great grandson; and sister, Helen Mullikin of Hampton, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Friday at Six and Twenty Baptist Church with Revs. Willie Honea and Heath Mullikin officiating. Burial will be private prior to the service. Honorary Escort will be the Men’s Bible Class. The family will receive friends following the service at the church until 7pm. The family is at their respective homes.
