TERRY HOLBROOKS

October 25, 1955 – August 21, 2009

ANDERSON, SC - Terry Michael Holbrooks, age 53, husband of Roxy Berger Holbrooks, of 122 Cleveland Road, died Friday, August 21, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Oconee County, SC, Terry was a son of the late Clyde Holbrooks and Betty Lee Holbrooks of Westminster. He attended Westminster High School and received training at the Ford Motor Tractor Company. He was a diesel mechanic and was formerly employed as a shop manager with Anderson Rent All and was also employed with Powell Brothers Equipment Company. Terry was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple and was affectionately known to his special buddy and grandson, Noah as “Poppie”.

Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Terry Micheal Holbrooks, Jr., of Seneca; daughter, Amy Locklear and her husband, Michael; a grandson, Noah, all of Anderson; mother, Betty Lee Holbrooks, Westminster; brother, Ned Holbrooks of Westminster; sisters, Joyce White of Westminster and Carol Stone of Royston, GA; mother-in-law, Roxana Hilliard of Anderson; brother-in-law, Danny Berger of North Carolina and sister-in-law, Kathy Maney of Anderson.

A grandson, Payton Myles Locklear preceded him in death.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Gethsemane Baptist Temple officiated by the Reverend Sam Duncan. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm.

The family will be at the residence.
