SUSAN P. RUSHTON

JUNE 23, 1956 – SEPTEMBER 11, 2009
 
PENDLETON, SC – Susan Sarah Pruitt Rushton, age 53, of 110 Pruitt Street, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2009, at her home. Born in Anderson County on June 23, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Roy Pruitt and Myrtis Tollison Pruitt.  Mrs. Rushton received a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Southern Wesleyan University and was an Administrative Assistant to the Registrar of Clemson University.  She was a member of Pendleton United Methodist Church and was a lifelong musician.
 
Survivors include her husband, Stephen T. Rushton of the home; children: a daughter, Stephanie Rushton of Beaufort, SC; a son, Geoffrey Rushton and wife, Jessica of Pendleton, SC; a grandson, Wesley Rushton, also of Pendleton, SC; and one sister, Nelwyn P. Landreth of Anderson, SC. The Funeral Service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, September 13, 2009, at Pendleton United Methodist Church conducted by the Reverend Ben Barnett. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6 pm until 8 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2009. The family will be at their respective homes. It is suggested that memorials be made to the Pendleton United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 646, Pendleton, SC 29670, or to the Susan Pruitt Rushton Endowment, c/o Southern Wesleyan University, Post Office Box 1020, Central, SC 29630.
