ANDERSON, SC – Mrs. Ida Beth Rainey Chamblee, age 89, of 2014 College Avenue passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
 
Born in Starr, SC, on August 30, 1920, she was a daughter of the late John Alvin Rainey and Lucy Todd Rainey.  Mrs. Chamblee was Valedictorian of her graduating class at Starr High School and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Anderson.
 
Mrs. Chamblee is survived by her daughter, Lynn Chamblee Brown, of the home; two grandchildren: Russell Brown and Dexter Brown; three great grandchildren: Matthew Brown, Christian Brown, and Justin Brown; and one sister, Mary Ellen Kirkpatrick of Anderson.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Pershing Aubrey Chamblee; one sister, Catherine Rainey Shirley and one brother, Samuel Todd Rainey.
 
The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm on Friday, September 18, 2009.   A Graveside Service will follow at 3 pm at New Silver Brook Cemetery, conducted by the Reverend Dr. Dennis Tedder and Father Hayden Vaverek.
