CALVIN L. MARTIN

FEBRUARY 20, 1925 – SEPTEMBER 5, 2009
 
BELTON, SC – Calvin Leon Martin, age 84, resident of Belton, SC, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Belton, SC, on February 20, 1925, he was a son of the late William Samuel Martin and Auzlee Osley Martin.  He was a United States Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II.  Mr. Martin retired from General Electric in Greenville and was a member of the Belton Church of God.
 
Survivors include his children: Carol M. Church and husband, Randy of Belton, Donnie Martin and wife, Cleo of Columbia, Eddy D. Martin of Belton, and Cheryll Martin of Burke, VA.   Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Mae Hopkins Martin; and two brothers, Herman Hugh Martin and W.S. Martin, Jr.
 
The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 2 pm until 3:30 pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2009.  The Funeral Service will follow at 4 pm in the Mausoleum Chapel of Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  Dr. J. Charles Smith will conduct the service.  Following the service, the Campbell Patriot Honor Guard will provide Military Honors. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Belton Church of God, 313 North Main Street, Belton, SC 29627. The family is at their respective homes.
