Grace Knight Fisher Thomas

ANDERSON, SC - Grace Knight Fisher Thomas, age 94, of 601 Lakewood Lane, died on Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Rainey Hospice House.
 
Born in Laurens County, SC, on June 10, 1915, she was a daughter of the late James Berry Knight and Emma Medlock Knight and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  Mrs. Thomas retired from textiles and was a seamstress.  She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, the Prospectors Senior Group and the Encourager Sunday School Class.
 
Survivors include a daughter Poniece F. Elgin and her husband, Alvin of Antreville; step-son, Don Thomas and his wife, Debra of Anderson; and a sister-in-law, Sara Knight of Anderson; five grandchildren, C. Michael Elgin and his wife, Vicki; Justin Thomas and his wife, April; Glenda Clarkson and her husband, Chip; Melinda Haverlock and her husband Mike; and Ashley Davis and six great-grandchildren.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Crayton L. Fisher and her second husband, L. Howard Thomas; three brothers, Oscar, Louis and Berry Knight and three sisters, Helen Thomas, Mary Hall and Ollie Knight. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 am Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Tony Smith and Rev. Tony Turner.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:30 am until 11:30am.
