MYRTLE RUTH ROBINSON
April 3, 1925 – November 30, 2009
ANDERSON, SC - Myrtle Ruth Dickerson Robinson, age 84 of Anderson, wife of the late Clarence “Robbie” Robinson, died Monday, November 30, 2009 at Willow Creek Nursing Center.
Born in Chester, SC on April 3, 1925, Mrs. Robinson was a daughter of the late William Lyles Dickerson and Elizabeth Dean Dickerson. She retired from textiles with twenty-five years of service having worked at Riverside Mill and Clark Schwebel. She was an avid bowler and golfer. Mrs. Robinson was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Clarence William “Bill” Robinson and his wife, Nancy of Belton; grandson, Joey William Robinson and his wife, Tracie and a great-grandson, Caleb William Robinson of Belton; sister-in-law, Ruby Robinson and many beloved nieces, nephews and neighbors.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 11:00 am at Canaan Baptist Church officiated by the Reverend Jerry Parnell. Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Mrs. Robinson will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The family will be at their respective homes.
