EDWARD A. BRAGG

ANDERSON, SC - Edward Austin Bragg, age 95, formerly of 421 Fields Avenue, died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Brighten Gardens in Greenville, SC
 
Born in Waterville, Maine on June 11, 1914, Mr. Bragg was the son of the late Frank and Lillian Snowman Bragg.  He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.  He moved from Kennebunk, Maine in 1958 to the Upstate of South Carolina.  He worked for over 42 years at the Saco-lowell Corporation and spent most of those years with the Research & Development Plant in Clemson.  He was a Mason and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
 
Survivors include his daughter, Rosa Bragg Burkhart and her husband, Ron of Greenville; son, Ted Austin Bragg of Anderson and his fiancée, Lisa Bailey of Greenville; six grandchildren, Brian, Greg and Bobby Patterson, Eddie and Eric Bragg and Kelsey Bailey; nine great-grandchildren; step-sisters, Bonnie Gale of Redding Mass. and Joy Hurd of Acton, Maine.
 
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Laona Brown Bragg and his second wife, Virginia Gilkey Bragg.
 
A Graveside Service with Military and Masonic Honors will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, officiated by the Reverend Dr. Tony Smith.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The family will be at their respective homes.
