URSULA T. FINLEY

                                            July 3, 1918 – September 18, 2009
 
 
ANDERSON, SC - Ursula Tiller Ivester Finley, age 91, of 414 Carole Avenue, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2009 at Brookside Living Center. Born in Hartwell, GA on July 3, 1918, Mrs. Finley was a daughter of the late James Alexander Tiller and Clara Jane McCurley Tiller.  She was a 1937 graduate of Girls’ High School and was District Manager with the Avon Cosmetic Company for over 43 years.  She lived in Travelers Rest for 20 years before moving to Anderson in 1969.  Mrs. Finley was a Member of New Hope United Methodist Church.
 
She is survived by a daughter, Carole Hawkins and her husband, Terry of Anderson; step children; Mike Finley of Pawleys Island and Pam Griffin of Greer; brothers, Bobby J. Tiller and W. Eugene Tiller, both of Wilmington, NC and Harold D. Tiller of Atlanta; sister Ellie T. Harper of Anderson; niece, who was raised in the home, Gail Brown of Iva; four grandchildren, Debbie West, Mike Hawkins, Eddie Hawkins and Delane Crawford; twelve great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.
 
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, (W. L.) William Lester Ivester and her second husband, Charles E. Finley; daughter, Brenda Ivester Adams; brother, James Isham Tiller and a great grandchild, Chelsea Ursula Hawkins.
 
The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home.  Her ashes will be interred in New Silver Brook Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm. The family will be at the home of her daughter, 414 Carole Avenue, Anderson.
